Waiting On Wednesday: Drink Deep, Chloe Neill + Randoms! Hurrah!

Release Date:
US: 1st Nov. 2011
AU: 10th Nov. 2011

Clouds are brewing over Cadogan House, and recently turned vampire Merit can’t tell if this is the darkness before the dawn or the calm before the storm. With the city iself in turmoil over paranormals and the state threatening to pass a paranormal registration act, times haven’t been this precarious for vampires since they came out of the closet. If only they could lay low for a bit, and let the mortals calm down.

That’s when the waters of Lake Michigan suddenly turn pitch black-and things really start getting ugly.

Chicago’s mayor insists it’s nothing to worry about, but Merit knows only the darkest magic could have woven a spell powerful enough to change the very fabric of nature. She’ll have to turn to friends old and new to find out who’s behind this, and stop them before it’s too late for vampires and humans alike.

After the events of Hard Bitten, I'm itching to get my hands on Drink Deep. The rub? It doesn't come out in Australia till the 10th of November, so I'm impatiently waiting to find out how Merit's coping, how my fave BFF, Mallory is going with her witchy mojo, and how the hell Neill is inevitably going to bring my Ethan back!

In Other News!

Tee at YA Crush recently blogged to celebrate their 1-year anniversary, and I had to share this quote, which perfectly sums up why, as a 'grown-up' (Ha! Yeah, right!), I read YA:

"So why do I read YA? Not because other genres aren’t good enough, but purely because it’s good. Because it’s fun. Because it’s entertaining and swoonworthy and all that good stuff. What better reason could there be?" (Read the rest of the post here)

How folks found my blog this week:

  3. Thanks for the comments!
Unfortunately I'm in Australia, and the book doesn't come out here till the 10th :(
    *sigh*, more waiting for me!

@Natalia: I love your blog! I'm *SO* jealous of your 'In Your Mailbox' at the moment!
    Also: OMG. Ethan.

@Samual: I love this series. It's really fun and kickass, but girly at the same time :)

  4. I've seen this book on a few other WoW posts -- it must be highly anticipated. Great choice!

    Here is my WoW.

  5. I really want to get into this series it sounds like so much fun! Great pick!

  6. @GF Book Mom: the series seems to have a really strong following. It's kind of funny (from my POV), as the first I heard of it was 2 weeks ago, right before I devoured the first 4 books in as many days. I stayed up till 2 in the morning reading the first one (some girls bite), when I had work the next morning. NOT good. Now I know it, I'm seeing it EVERWHERE.

@Giselle: thanks! I have really enjoyed the series. It surprised me a bit, actually. I was expecting another run of the mill (but nonetheless awesome) UF/PNR, but Merit's voice sucked me right in. It's so friendly, bubbly and chatty, it's like reading chic-lit with vampires :D
Also, Merit has. Seriously cool BFF--not just an annoying self-absorbed sidekick/distraction. Hope you enjoy them!

Also, @Wendy: you have the most amazing knack for picking books with the most GORGEOUS covers. It must be a talent :D

  7. I totally hear ya with how Hard Bitten finished..I was like WT!!!!So hanging for Drink Deep!!

  8. The first three books of this series I loved and adored. I recommended them to many based on their snark and action appeal. But then Hard Bitten came along, and at the end, the vampire hero Ethan dies. Stake in the heart, turns to ashes. The end.
