Win 1 of 2 Copies of Touch Of Power by Maria V. Snyder!

Yes! This beautiful cover could be on
YOUR BOOKSHELF! ... I know, right?
Keep calm, and enter the giveaway.
Guys, it's no secret I'm a MASSIVE fan of Maria V. Snyder. And it's even less of a secret that Touch Of Power was one of my favorite books of 2011 (it was tied for first place with Across the Universe and Shatter Me. Do you even KNOW how good those books were? This is saying something. Just sayin').

From Goodreads
Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan assumes their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Territories, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.

Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...

So that being said, I am seriously excited to have 2 copies of Touch Of Power to give away, thanks to HarlequinTEEN Australia!

    1. Oh, seriously--this is such a good place to start if you haven't yet read her. This, or Poison Study. Both are AMAZING books, and 2 of my absolutely favorite. I don't know if you've read Graceling by Kristin Cashore, but I get similar vibes. Maria=AMAZING.

    2. Oh my goodnes, invisbility? FUN! I always wonder WHY people say invisibility, though... it makes me suspicious. What, exactly are you planning? >:D

    3. Haha, nothing, I swear :p It would be handy if you needed to hide from bad guys!

  2. I've heard so much about this book and still haven't read it yet. *don't shoot me*

Also, your terms and conditions made me giggle like mad. I was a little sad when the zombie talk stopped.

    1. Aaah! I could never shoot you *hugs* Besides... it'd be awfully messy >:D

You'll LOVE it--promise! We can talk more about zombies now, if you like? :D

    2. Lol! I'm glad that the possibility of mess put you off :P

I actually don't know a lot about zombies and they sort of creep me out (not just because of the brains thing)...But I like the idea that even if we're all zombies, someone's still going to want to get their book.

    3. Zombies SERIOUSLY scare me, so YES. I know what you mean... plus, they're really unclean.

ANYWAY--there's a book called Warm Bodies... Isaac something? Anyways, the zombies kind of think/feel, so maybe they'd seriously be into books? :D

      Isaac Marion!

    4. THEY THINK!? Geez, I probably offended zombies all over the universe by saying they wouldn't care about books. Should I apologise?

      Sorry Zombies! Don't eat me!

    5. Hey, well, I'm not sure they think *THAT* much, but I'm pretty sure they thinkg "BRRAAAAIIINS".

      OH.
      MY.
      GOODNESS.

Actually. I *HAVE* read a book with thinking zombies. They're actually the risen dead (up out of their graves), and they talk, too. SCARY AS . Actually, I bought the book form Basement Books XD

Oooooh, would you like to read it? I could TOTALLY send it to you :D

    6. Basement Books...it's seriously the best store ever. Scary zombie book? Like the type that'll leave me shaking and unable to sleep at night? I don't do well with scary stuff...but I'm really tempted to take you up on that offer.

I bought my sister a zombie book for Christmas, it freaked her out, but I haven't read it yet. ('Dearly, Departed' - Lia Habel) But I'm not sure that counts because, according to my sis, half the zombies were pretty normal.

    7. Hmmm... OK... yes. It *IS* kind of scary... but I mean, just don't read it at home alone with the lights out. I decided to keep reading it (instead of sleeping) in bed with a booklight one night. NOT A GOOD IDEA. FREAKING SCARY.

Seriously. Let me know you if you'd like it. It's yours. I'll post it this weekend.

The book's called Soulless by Christoper Golden.

EEEE! I WANT TO READ DD! I hear amazing things... and apparently the zombies aren't really zombie-ish? They've found a way to ward fo the decay and what not? I didn't know it was actually scary though.

OMG. If we're talking scary: have you read The Forest of Hands and Teeth. *shudders*
Also one of the most depressing books I've EVER read O___O

    8. Oh, goodness! It sounds creepy but I really want to read it now. Ok, lets do this thing. I'll DM you my address on Twitter :)

Yeah, my sis said some of the zombies weren't zombie-ish. But she freaked out heaps. Probably because she was reading alone at night :P Rachel Caine's 'Working Stiff' is about like that, having a revival drug that takes away decay.

No, but I wanted to 'The Forest of Hands and Teeth'...now I'm not so sure.

  4. Loved your conditions!!!! They had me smiling like an idiot, staring at the computer screen. But....BACK OFF!! Kerrick is mine girlie! Mine. Only mine. No matter what Jess says-- she's delusional and a bit unwell in the head, so you'll have to excuse her if she says otherwise.

Err, I need to work on getting my giveaway up too, lol.

    1. Hey, well, I'm happily married. It's not like I was planning to DO anything with him... I just kind of figured if he was in Sydney, my BFF might like him... but we could totally work out a custody arrangement. I mean, as long as he's in Sydney, it's one step closer, right? :D

  9. Hmmmm. ANY superpower? Probably the ability to turn invisible. :D Either that, or the ability to fly. I'm not too sure which.

Thank you SO MUCH for hosting this giveaway! :D :D

    1. I think the two would compliment each other... I mean, if you COULD fly, it'd probably be REALLY helpfult o be invisible, right?

Though I always wonder exactly *what* people are planning on getting up to when they want invisibility >:D

      Delete
  10. If I had any superpower I would want the ability to read minds but I would want it to be one I could control so that I could turn it off whenever I wanted.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Oooh, that would be COOOL!
But yes. Would SO need to be able to turn it off, right? *shudders* can you imagine if it was constant?
