Blogspiration (58): The End

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author’s choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.

Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin. And there are many things that don't really end, anyway, they just begin again in a new way. Ends are not bad and many ends aren't really an ending; some things are never-ending.

Over a year ago, an idea took root in a blogger’s brain. An idea to inspire those around her, and, in doing so, inspire herself. To release something positive into the world.

I was not that blogger.

That blogger was Kristin of GrowingUp YA.  For the last year, and longer, I’ve been privilege to call Kristin one of best friends, or, as we prefer, my ‘boo’ (don’t tell her I called her that in public), and when she approached me this idea, and asked if I’d like to co-host, I said yes. Thus, Blogspiration was born.

Over the last year, it’s been an honour and a privilege to share Blogspiration with you. Seeing what everyone has to share, every week, the wisdom they offer, and the happiness and inspiration you have all brought me is a gift I cannot adequately thank you all for.

I do not believe all good things come to an end. The very best things — faith, friendship, hope and love — can be boundless, stretching out over our lifetimes, and long past them, to change the world, indelibly, and leave it a better place. But life and death, beginning and end, are the nature of most things, and Blogspiration, too, has drawn to its close.

As Blogspiration was Kristin’s dream, it seems fitting it reaches its conclusion as she, herself, takes her leave from blogging — though whether or not that is permanent is not for me to say; she may very well return!

So, today is the very last day of Blogspiration as it stands. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has made this little meme what it is, for your friendship, and for making our little corner of the blogosphere and better, more positive place.

  1. Great quote! I think it was a great idea coming from the both of you. Every blogger needs a little bit of this blogspiration in their lives! Helps us keep going as cliche as it sounds. :)

  2. Awww.. While I haven’t always participated in Blogspiration, I always love seeing the quotes you post (especially all the Harry Potter ones:P), and I really hope that Blogspiration will make a comeback one day:)

  3. Aww a brilliant quote for the last blogspiration post! I’ve always enjoyed this meme – it’s one of the more creative and original ones out there. I’m sad to see it go, but I hope Kristin will return to blogging in the future. Thanks for sharing, Sarah! <3

  4. This is sad! :( But it’s been fun reading and taking part. It’s sad it won’t be happening anymore, but I might continue it in my ownb way, when I’m able to get back to the other blog. Le sigh. But as I said, it’s been awesome. And this is an awesome post :) Thanks to you both!

    • SARAH! I was just thinking about Blogspiration, and I’ve realised that it’s BECAUSE of Blogspiration, and Brodie mentioning it on her blog as a way to help promote it, that I even know about your blog and you at all! Now I feel even more sad that Blogspiration is ending! If it wasn’t for this fantastic meme, I wouldn’t know you at all (possibly), and that’s just unthinkable. So I’m super glad for Blogspiration for giving me a new friend :)

  5. I absolutely loved all the quotes that you’ve posted for the Blogspiration meme, and like everyone else I’m so sad to see it go. But thank you for making each one amazing. <33

  6. This quote: “The very best things — faith, friendship, hope and love — can be boundless, stretching out over our lifetimes, and long past them, to change the world, indelibly, and leave it a better place” is just so beautiful and EXACTLY the reason why I’ve loved this meme so much <3

I'll be sad to see it go but thank you so, so much to you, Kristin and everyone else for making it absolutely fantastic :)

  7. I love the quote by Joybell, but you know what I love more? Quotes by Sarah. “I do not believe all good things come to an end. The very best things — faith, friendship, hope and love — can be boundless, stretching out over our lifetimes, and long past them, to change the world, indelibly, and leave it a better place.”

And I just saw that Sonia got in before me, but it’s so wonderful that it’s worth copypasting twice!!

It’s sad to see it come to a close, but the words of inspiration, friendship, beauty, love and Harry Potter that you and Kristin and every participant has given readers weekly will live on, and be passed on. The Blogspiration legacy will never die! Unless the internet one day crashes, but… well, THEY CAN’T WIPE OUR BRAINS!

  8. OMG, I am so sad right now. I wish I did Blogspiration more often but I had to cut down on memes. I don’t like doing more that one per week. :( But I did love Blogspiration. It made my Sundays. I hope to see it again.

  9. Beautiful quote and thank you, Sarah, for sharing so many inspiring things since I first came here. I look forward to going back and finding inspiration, both on your blog and on many of the others which I have found through this excellent meme. It’s just like Harry Potter- “Blogspiration will always be there to welcome you home.” J.K. Rowling was totally talking about this.

  10. I am so sad – I thought well… I will keep doing it. For the memory of it? I can do that, right? Because seriously, end it would mean just :’( :’( Yeah, me crying my eyes out. I’ll see. Anyway, the adventure was pretty amazing! ;) <3 <3
